  • Work Support
    Work Support provides work opportunity listings for people with different types of disabilities, including mental illnesses. This site includes information on legality issues and Social Security resources. www.worksupport.com
  • Social Security Administration
    The Social Security Administration manages and distributes information about SSI and SSDI. You can apply for these benefits through a local office. The Web site of this government agency includes the address and business hours of your local office. You can also get this information by calling the agency's toll-free number 1-800-772-1213. www.ssa.gov
  • Texas Department of Aissistive and Rehabilitative Services
    The DARS Division for Rehabilitation Services is designated as the state's principal authority on the vocational rehabilitation of Texans with disabilities, except persons with visual impairments and the legally blind. The Division's main purpose is to assist people with disabilities to participate in their communities by achieving employment of choice, living as independently as possible and accessing high quality services. The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program, a state-federal partnership since 1929, helps people with disabilities prepare for, find and keep jobs. Work related services are individualized and may include counseling, training, medical treatment, assistive devices, job placement assistance, and other services.
